Nature in Dénia

The region of La Marina Alta and Dénia, its capital, have natural spaces of great ecological value that give it a beautiful typically Mediterranean landscape.

Dénia is located on the slopes of Montgó, a powerful 753-meter mountain. From its peak on clear days you can see Ibiza, located approximately 70km away. In 1987 it was declared a Natural Park for the value and richness of its fauna and, above all, its flora, since more than 600 plant species live there, several of them endemic.

El Montgó offers us a magnificent opportunity to go hiking due to its well-marked routes, of a difficulty that varies from medium to low, which allow us to access emblematic points such as “la creueta”, at its peak, “Cova del Camell” or the “Cova de l´Aigua”.

The omnipresent Montgó ends in the sea, creating in the south of the city a rocky, calm and smooth coast to Cabo de San Antonio, a beautiful and imposing 160m cliff. at whose base we find the Reserve.
