The urban area of Dénia is located next to the sea, with an active port that divides the Dianenense coast into 2 parts: Las Marinas, to the north of the city, and Rotas, to the south. The first beaches of both areas are next to the city and you can go to them on foot or by regular bus.
The port of Denia stands out for its fishing and commercial importance (different shipping companies link Denia with the Balearic Islands, since it is the closest peninsular point to these islands). In the recreational area its 3 marinas allow you to enjoy the sea.
The city is located around a gentle hill by the sea on which is the Dénia Castle, highlighting the traditional neighborhoods of Baix la Mar, next to the port, and Les Roques, in the upper part of the city, neighborhoods of Mediterranean flavor, of narrow streets, white houses and calm rhythm. Due to its history and architecture, the streets Loreto, Cavallers, Major and, of course, Marqués de Campo street deserve a special mention, an authentic vital center of the city and an obligatory reference for any visitor.
There is public bus transport between the urban center and the beaches of Las Marinas, Las Rotas and the Hospital Comarcal throughout the year.
