Dénia’s long history is present in its monuments, as well as in its most emblematic streets and neighborhoods.
The most visible trace in history is the Denia Castle, located in the city center on a gentle hill by the sea. Its origin is Islamic, between the 11th and 12th centuries, and the Red Tower, Almohad, and that of the Consell (15th century), the bastions and the Governor’s Palace (16th and 17th centuries) stand out. Currently the Castle stands out for its heritage value, for being the stage where important cultural events are held (eg the folk music show known as Música al Castell), for being an attractive place to walk with beautiful views of the sea , to the coast and mountains and for being the headquarters of the Archaeological Museum, where we can find samples of the city’s past from prehistoric times to the 18th century.
The Ethnological Museum, located on the stately Cavallers street, reflects the history of Dénia during the second half of the 19th century, when the city experienced a moment of splendor thanks to the raisin trade, which allowed a great urban, economic and cultural development. In the Toy Museum, which is located in the building of the old train station, you can find beautiful toys made in Dénia from the beginning of the 20th century until 1960, a period in which our town was a benchmark for the country’s toy industry.
For its monumental interest, the Church of the Assumption, the Church of San Antonio, the Convent of the Augustinians, the Torre del Gerro, the hermitages of San Joan, Santa Paula and Santa Llúcia, the estate, deserve to be known Torrecremada, with its beautiful garden, as well as different stately houses located in different parts of Dénia.

In Dénia you can enjoy leisure in different ways. During the day we can entertain ourselves on the beach, practice some sport, visit the beautiful towns and landscapes of the interior of the region,
